28th September 2021

Hounslow Wolves 10-3 Reality

Starting XI: Raul (GK), Rahul, Sanjit, Sergio, Rose, Ahmed Abdali, Liam, Anas, Tamin, Bilal, Ahmed Abdula

Subs: Rudy, Abdulmajid

After last week’s season opener where the Wolves put in a dominant 3-0 victory over the newly formed Ickenhams FC, they looked to continue they’re rich form against previous seasons league leaders Reality FC. First team manager Rishi, opted for a pretty much unchanged system of a 4-3-3, with the only additions being Rudy (returning from injury) and Abdulmajid (bumped up from the XI’s)

With kick off imminent, the wolves knew a fast pace from the off was what the manager desired and that’s exactly what the gaffer got. With the Wolves peppering the reality goal, a couple impressive saves and a few dubious misses, it was only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken. It took till the 20th minute for the wolves to assume their lead, which was brilliantly taken by Bilal who latched onto a long ball over the top showing his pace and then rounded the keeper impressively to take a 1-0 lead. After the 1st goal the defensive line of the Wolves never really got pushed back into their own half with all the football being played in the Reality’s half. Every long ball from the keeper was met by the midfield duo of Liam or Ahmed Abdali who recycled the ball to the wings, giving Reality no rest bite. The 2nd goal, which was once again was due, a lovely finish from the tricky Tamin who received the ball from out wide from Ahmed Abdula before turning and firing into the top right giving the keeper no chance. The Wolves looked hungry in search of goals and with their tails up, the 3rd came from Ahmed Abdula, (who could have had 2 or 3 in the first half alone) who finally got his goal from an unselfish cutback from Bilal who left Ahmed with a gaping goal to slot home for his first. Wolves saw the first half out knowing full well a 3-0 lead could’ve easily been 6 or 7.

With the second half commencing, Gaffer Rishi instilled in the boys that the game was far from over and wanted to see responsibly from each player to manage the game to a comfortable victory. With a few changes made to ensure this, Rudy came on for Anas in the 10 and Abdulmajid replaced the injured Liam, changing the formation to a 4-5-1 with two holding midfielders. The Wolves found themselves conceding early in the second half from a looping ball over the top, which their striker broke onto and then slotted into the near post making it 3-1. After this slight mishap, the floodgates opened. With reality searching for goals, the Wolves stayed patient and moved the ball around fast and precisely, with 3-1 becoming 7-1 in a matter of 10 minutes. Goals from Ahmed Abdula, Bilal (x2) and Tamim, once again with beautiful counter attacking football and the midfield turning over possession and picking out the wide men, Reality looked well and truly beat. But hats off to them, who continued to pressure and finally got their reward from through ball over the top and another calm finish from there striker which made the game 7-2. The Wolves weren’t finished yet, with 7-2 becoming 8-2 through a lovely team goal, neatly finished by Tamim who dinked the keeper to get his hat-trick. The game wasn’t over and a bit of a controversial penalty rewarded to Reality conceded by Sanjit, and once again they’re striker stepped up and converted, 8-3. The Wolves were only spurred by this, with substitute Rudy proving how hungry he was for goals, bagged himself 2 before the full time whistle, with the game ending 10-3.

A convincing performance from the Wolves lads, leaving them top of the table after two games played with a +10 goal difference. A special shoutout to a MOTM performance Bilal who scored 3 and assisted 5, a massive contender for the golden boot this year. Once again gaffer Rishi expressed his thoughts after the game, letting everybody know how proud he was of the spectacular performance. Big shoutout to Reality who are a very decent side, but the Wolves proved to be untouchable.
