Hounslow Wolves v Rajputs Del Muno

3rd October 2021

Hounslow Wolves 11-0 Rajputs Del Mundo

Starting XI: Sanjit (GK), Rahul, Vik, Sergio, Rose, Ahmed Abdali, Abdulmajid , Anas, Tamin, Bilal, Nikhil V

Subs: Killian (GK), Ahmed Abdula, Yas, Rudy

After last weeks comprehensive win against Reality, the Wolves continued their campaign against Rajputs Del Mondo, whom were sat bottom of the league with a -15 goal difference. Despite the stats, the Wolves did not ponder on the facts and knew that 3 points was what was required and knew that any side in the league can turn over anybody on their given day.

Gaffer Ghatoare opted for an unchanged system of 4-3-3 and brought in a few additions, Nikhil V, Yas, Vik (returning from injury) and Killian. And in typical Sunday-league fashion, Keeper Killian, who travels from middle earth to turn out for the Wolves, was unfortunately running late and therefore Skipper Sanjit returned between the sticks for the first 20 to later be replaced by Killian.

With kick off around the corner, the Wolves and Rajput held a minute’s silence which was brilliantly observed by both teams in honour of the life of Raj Singh Shinji, whom was a former manager and good friend to one of our own Jatty. With formalities out the way, we were off, and once again the wolves started at an electric pace. Rajputs failed to keep up with the Wolves early storm and found themselves 5 behind in the first 20 minutes, with a Bilal hat-trick, Tamim and Anas all getting themselves on the scoresheet. The wolves looked hungry to extend this lead, coming close with every chance in front of goal, but the half ended at a satisfying 5-0.

With a few second half changes, the gaffer reiterated that a clean sheet was ultimately the end goal, and with what was a sterling first half performance, this never looked in doubt. Changes came in the way of Abdulmajid making way for Sanjit, Ahmed Abdula replacing the electric Nikhil V and Rose for Yas (making his debut). And in similar fashion to the first half, Ahmed Abdula didn’t have to wait long before adding to the total making it 7-0 within 5 minutes of the second half with two neat finishes. With Rudy replacing Tamim, who has been in great form with both assist and goals to his name. The Wolves didn’t let off, adding 4 more before the end, with goals from Abdail, Sanjit, Rudy and Abdula getting his hattrick.

All in all, it was an impressive victory for the Wolves, where no hiccups occurred and scoring 23 goals in 3 games is a real statement to the league, where the Wolves are sitting pretty with a +20-goal difference. A massive shoutout to the defensive line Rahul, Vik, Sergio, Rose/Yas, whom worked hard and went pretty much unnoticed, but made sure that the door stayed firmly closed. Ahmed Abdali once again marshalled the midfield with his calm and composed nature, ensuring every long ball was firmly headed back where it came from.

The Wolves turn their focus onto the cup campaign next, where they play Roving Reporters at fortress Cranford for an 11am kick off in search of their first piece of silverware.
